Artist Shiva Lynn Burgos, Founder of the Mariwai Project, has graciously invited Charmoli Ciarmoli to provide supportive art services to the Artists of Kwoma Kollective as they visit NYC for the very first time to participate in this historic moment; as they create a spiritual link between the spirit house of the Kwoma people and the Kwoma ceiling newly reconfigured at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Chief Mathew Kuarchinj and Tobi Borungai completed their sacred mission in a private ritual before the opening ceremony. Upon which The Met is considered family, everone who passes through The Met is considered guests of the Mariwai people. Now awakening thier spiritual guides who abide within the Kwoma Ceiling, linking The Met's. Spirit House and the Spirit House in Papua New Guinea built with the help of The Mariwai Project which you can view the story of on a digital kiosk beneath the ceiling. Here are some images from that moment. A video work documenting their journey to this moment is currently in development.

A special thanks to Max Hollien, Maia Nuku, Sylvia Cockburn and Mary Rockefeller Morgan for the generous hospitality extended to the Mariwai and all the peoples included in the re-imagined wing.
