Charmoli Ciarmoli is thrilled to present a group exhibition of Italian heritage artists during the 2024 Venice Biennale: Fico. Titled with the colloquialism vernacular in Italian for cool and fig. This offering explores the notions Italian coolness and genuine artistry. In aims of returning to the roots of what it is to be an artist and why. The efforts of the artist to make statements of meaning and beauty. One that extends beyond the exclusive imaginary boundaries of the art industry. Real coolness is kindness liken to familial love. Embodiment of radical acceptance and compassion with representation regardless of age, education or gender. Each of the artists were selected on the merits of their teaching, learning, practice, vision and general attitude towards others. This it factor, this coolness, this thoughtfulness is what is generated by artists during their search for truth of their existence. Subsequently these artistic results are desired and stewarded\ by the bankers, investors, collectors, institutions that seek to obtain these objects to bring that coolness, fico into their lives and ultimately benefit from. The works of each artist were selected based on a cohesion of aesthetics, personality and thematic crossover. A selection of painters and sculptors from the notable studio Cattso Spazio in venice. Employing similar pallets and gestures, it’s apparent the artists approach the medium as contemporaries. Albeit with their own voices and messages they wish to express. Paired with first ever exhibitions of video works by Stefania Pia & Nick Farhi that explore poetry, song and the fragility of production. The rotating display of the videos will fill the space with their auditory elements bathing the physical artworks in a more casual, underground, domestic presentation. All included works
offer a commentary on representational imagery within the traditional and abstracted contemporary histories. We invite you to join us in celebration at the opening in La Accedemia, Venice on May 23th.
